Spring Garden Notes #5 — After the Rain
Share
The rain passed through quietly, but it left everything changed.
This morning, the azaleas are glowing—petals deep pink, almost luminous, each one holding small droplets that catch the light. Up close, they feel alive in a different way. Not just blooming, but breathing.
There’s something about the garden after rain. Colours deepen. Edges soften. Everything feels a little more present, as if the world has been gently rinsed and returned to itself.
I find myself lingering here longer than usual.
Noticing the weight of each droplet, the curve of each petal, the way nothing is rushed—even now, at full bloom. It’s easy to think that once something has arrived, the moment is complete. But the garden doesn’t work that way.
Even in its brightest, fullest state, it keeps changing.
Petals will fall. New buds will come. The cycle continues without urgency, without hesitation.
Standing here, it feels like a quiet reminder:
Beauty isn’t a single moment to reach.
It’s something that keeps unfolding, again and again, if you take the time to see it.
Yours truly, Lerika
